Visiting Camp – Summer Holiday Experience Grant 2023

Throughout the summer, camps funded by our Experience Grant have been offering enriching experiences for children. We’ve made it a priority to visit these camps in person, meeting the children and hearing about their experiences firsthand.

At the end of July, we had the pleasure of visiting a camp organized by the Somogy County Child Protection Center. The camp took place in Orfű, where 37 children and 7 adult guardians enjoyed a fun-filled holiday. The staff at the children’s home launched a unique program: the Spiritusz Theatre Arts Experience Camp. The primary goal of the camp was to provide the children with a meaningful experience, offering them roles where they could feel valued and included. Over the course of nearly a week, participants took part in theater drama lessons and team-building activities, all culminating in a stage production. Our foundation’s team was eager to see their hard work come to life, so we timed our visit to coincide with the performance. During the nearly hour-long show, every child participated, clearly enjoying their time on stage. It was heartwarming to witness the genuine cooperation and harmony between the children and adults. The performances included two distinct pieces: a lively, entertaining act by the younger group and a more serious topic explored by the older children. Despite the different tones, both performances were filled with creativity, music, and a shared sense of love, making it an absolute joy to watch.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to both the children and adults for their dedication, and we hope the memories and lessons from the camp will stay with them for a long time to come.
