The Foundation’s education support strategy is based on professional research conducted in 2020. Based on the findings of the research, the Foundation initiated the development of a specific program regarding age group, territoriality and educational participation.
The main pillars of the program:
1. supporting the studies in the most critical subjects to reduce the number of class repetitions
2. supporting the talent: The approach of the Foundation is based on by getting to know the individuals by the strength of their abilities. The positive, accepting approach provides an opportunity to learn about and develop the talent of the students. Talent can be hidden in all children, so in our interpretation of talent management we can map and support the opportunities inherent in the individual, provide stimulus-rich environmental conditions that can contribute to finding later individual life paths and successful social integration. Talent management is built along the interests of children, one of the key areas of which, according to the data found in the research, is sport.
3. elaboration and implementation of contents designed according to the special learning needs of those growing up in children’s homes, which support the lack of a family pattern and well-being in everyday life.
SCHOOL ENROLLMENT SUPPORT FOR DISADVANTAGED CHILDREN – MAY 2021
GA SUMMER CAMP – JULY 2020
The first summer camp series of the Gattyán Foundation were organized in the Normafa Club House, which is located above the Capital, in the bird-chirping environment bordered by nature reserves. The aim of the event is to embrace young people living in children’s homes and help them with their plans and ideas in connection with further education, choosing a profession or even achieving goals that have already been set or are still being formulated. The camp provides an opportunity for children to find out their abilities and interests, to gain insight to different professions, and to find out what they would like to do as a teenager or as a young adult.
SUPPORTING THE DIGITAL EDUCATION – MARCH 2020
The Gattyán Foundation and the Docler Foundation donated more than 1,000 new laptops and desktop computers to several children’s homes across the country. Our goal is to enable the participation of children living in institutions in the suddenly introduced distance learning, and therefore they don’t have to lag behind in learning.
The Foundation’s approach is that the basis for effective assistance is professional foundation. To facilitate this, within the framework of a national survey conducted in the years of 2020 and 2021, the Foundation mapped the educational participation of children living in children’s homes, their current education, their further study plans and their vision related to learning and work.
