Training for Foster Home Workers – Child Abuse, Peer Abuse, Sexual Violence, and Bullying – March 30, 2023

Building on the open-minded approach and positive feedback we received at last year’s conference, we have decided to continue to place a strong emphasis on the training of professionals working in child protection services.

Once a month, our foundation offers foster home staff the opportunity to attend a free training day. Each session focuses on topics that are central to the daily challenges faced in foster homes. To ensure that participants gain valuable and practical knowledge, we invite leading experts in their respective fields to share their insights.

The first training session of the year was held at the headquarters of Docler Holding Group at the end of March, centering on the critical topics of child abuse and peer abuse. Dr. Szilvia Gyurkó, one of Hungary’s most respected children’s rights experts and founder of the Hintalovon Foundation, delivered the opening lecture. Following her presentation, participants had the opportunity to choose between two specialized workshops. One, led by the team from Amnesty International, addressed the issue of bullying, while the other, facilitated by Dr. Gyurkó, focused on sexual violence and abuse. After these important yet difficult discussions, attendees were able to relax and connect over a shared lunch.

The day concluded with a closing lecture from Borbála Csekeő, the leader of the Kék Vonal Child Crisis Foundation. Her talk delved deeper into the issue of school bullying, emphasizing the vital role of supportive communication in addressing this challenge.

We hope that all participants left with valuable insights and practical tools they can apply in their daily work. We look forward to welcoming more professionals to future training sessions, where we will continue to provide relevant knowledge that benefits both the caregivers and the children they support.
