Community Development Grant 2024

At the end of March, we announced our first grant of the year, designed to strengthen the sense of community within children’s homes. With this grant, we aim to support staff in bringing their ideas to life—ideas they believe will engage and inspire the children. By creating shared projects, we hope to foster stronger bonds among the children and between children and staff. Stepping outside of daily routines and working toward a common goal provides a positive, enriching experience for everyone involved.

We are thrilled with the enthusiasm this grant has generated among children’s home staff, receiving 80 applications from 22 institutions. The range of creative and impactful ideas made the selection process both exciting and challenging. It was especially interesting to see similarities in project ideas from institutions across the country. Given the high level of interest, we decided to select 10 institutions instead of the originally planned 8.

We thank everyone who shared their ideas and applied! We hope that the process of developing these ideas was motivating in itself, and that some of the proposals not selected for funding may still come to life in the future.
