Christmas gifts – December 2022
2022. December 20.
Each year, our foundation is dedicated to bringing joy to children in foster care by surprising them with Christmas gifts that extend well beyond the holiday season. One of our key goals is to offer meaningful support to both the staff and the children in such institutions.
This year, we were thrilled to have the chance to personally visit every child protection center and foster home in the country. The insights we gained during these visits were invaluable in shaping this year’s gift initiative.
For this Christmas, we wanted to focus on providing experiences. We recognize that the holiday season is a particularly busy time for these institutions, with most donations and programs concentrated around Christmas. That’s why we chose to give gifts that can be enjoyed long after the holiday rush.
One of our major contributions is a large-scale event at Elevenpark, one of Budapest’s most popular playhouses. The unique twist is that this event will take place not at Christmas, but during carnival season. Under the theme “Carnival is the New Christmas,” we are organizing an exciting carnival celebration complete with doughnuts, a costume contest, and plenty of fun activities. We expect several hundred children from across the country to attend.
In addition to this, we focused on providing further experiences as gifts. We donated tickets to every foster home for popular attractions such as zoos, circuses, cinemas, adventure parks, and paintball arenas. Taking each institution’s location into account, we customized the list of venues to ensure easy access and minimize travel. In total, more than 1,770 tickets were distributed to 29 institutions, and these tickets are valid throughout the year. This allows for flexibility in planning recreational activities during times when organizing such programs may be more challenging.
We hope that these opportunities not only give the children a memorable Christmas but also fill the upcoming year with joy and enriching experiences for the children living in foster care.
