Children’s Homes Regional Teqball Cup – September 2023

For the second year in a row, the Gattyán Foundation hosted the final regional Teqball tournament of the summer at the Kossuth Zsuzsa Children’s Home, part of the Bokréta

Residential and Children’s Home Center in Bicske. Set in a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere, more than 25 children participated in the morning’s Teqball skill challenges. For the first time, we offered preschool-aged children the chance to develop their ball-handling skills alongside professional Teqball coaches. Following the exercises, the children enjoyed a meal of gyros to refuel for the afternoon competition. The influence of the professional coaching was evident, as many participants were mindful of eating lightly to ensure their best performance in the tournament.

In the afternoon, the older children were divided into two groups, with matches held on two professional Teqball tables. The top four teams consisted of two pairs from Bicske, one pair from the Szátok Children’s Home, and one pair from the Dunavecse Children’s Home. The final was a local showdown between the two Bicske teams, who delivered a close match. It was inspiring to see how much each child had improved, as well as the heartfelt support from spectators during the exciting final. The winning teams were awarded trophies, marking the culmination of a fantastic day of competition.
