IV. National Teqball Cup for Children’s Homes – December 2023
2024. January 09.
At the beginning of December, our foundation proudly hosted the fourth National Teqball Cup, organized specifically for children living in state care.
Nearly 50 participants joined the two-day event, where we aimed to provide not only thrilling competitions but also enjoyable recreational activities.
The first half of Saturday was dedicated to practice, giving young players the opportunity to warm up and improve their skills under the guidance of professionals. In previous years, the competition featured only doubles matches, but this year we introduced an individual category, adding an exciting new dimension to the tournament. The individual matches began before lunch, and the participants, eager to return to the Teqball tables, viewed the delicious food as a quick pit stop. By the end of the day, all individual matches had concluded, allowing us to celebrate the top three winners in the individual category for the first time.
As part of our commitment to accessibility, we continued our tradition of providing accommodation for groups traveling from the countryside, ensuring more relaxed preparation and a richer experience. After an intense first day, participants enjoyed a well-deserved evening of fun, including dinner at the Arena Plaza and a movie of their choice.
Sunday followed the familiar tournament structure. The day began with doubles training in the morning, followed by thrilling knockout rounds in the afternoon. After a series of competitive matches, winners were awarded trophies, medals, certificates, and DRK vouchers. Beyond the prizes, the best players were invited to join the Infinity Teqball team and will compete in the 2024 National Championship with the support of the Gattyán Foundation.
We concluded the weekend with our now-traditional raffle, ensuring that everyone left with a reward. Based on the enthusiastic feedback, the young participants thoroughly enjoyed the event, with many already asking about the next tournament on their way home. We hope that the positive experiences from this weekend will inspire them to keep practicing and return with the same enthusiasm for future competitions!
