Visiting Children’s Homes – Cseppkő Children’s Home Center – July 2022

At the end of July, we had the pleasure of visiting the Cseppkő Children’s Home Center to deliver our donations. Located atop Rózsadomb, their main building, constructed in 1964, was one of the first facilities in the country specifically designed to serve as a children’s home. In addition to its residential groups, the institution has provided a supportive environment for young adults in aftercare since 1989. The center offers eight individual studio apartments where young adults can live until the age of 24, provided they meet certain requirements. In 2016, the institution expanded further by integrating the Szilágyi Erzsébet Children’s Home in Békásmegyer. The Cseppkő Children’s Home Center is also known for its innovative Varázscsepp National Talent Show, a project designed to showcase the talents of children and young adults in child protection services and aftercare. For over 10 years, this event has allowed participants from children’s homes across the country to enthusiastically present their skills and talents.

The institution places a strong emphasis on promoting sports and physical activity among the children, which was evident in their donation requests. We were pleased to provide a variety of sports equipment, including balls, nets, jump ropes, and mini soccer goals, which are sure to see frequent use. In addition to sports gear, we contributed board games, developmental tools, and hammocks, all aimed at enhancing both recreation and personal development. To further improve the children’s living environment, we donated new furniture and electronic devices, including beds, tables, lamps, dining chairs, shelves, curtains, rugs, dinnerware, microwaves, and printers. We hope that these contributions will bring both comfort and enjoyment to the children and support the institution’s ongoing efforts to create a nurturing and dynamic environment.
