“Helping and supporting others is most admirable when it’s selfless and silent.“
The Gattyán Foundation's primary goal is to support disadvantaged children and young adults from underprivileged backgrounds, or raised in social or foster care. The foundation helps in a variety of areas, such as social assistance, education, sports, and cultural programs.
Our aim is to create programs that improve the quality of life of these children and their standard of living through the following 4 pillars:
We strive to create a program that support and assists the integration of school-age children through the Hungarian education system.
We help children with learning difficulties and integrational problems through the educators, psychologists, and teachers involved in our program. Thus, we help them develop their talents and abilities, and aim to give them all the tools for a successful life, because we believe that a proper education is necessary to succeed as an adult.
We believe that through our work and by coming together as a society, we can significantly alleviate the day-to-day worries of disadvantaged children and, in the long run, lessen the number of disadvantaged people living in this country.
Additionally, we also support children by completely or partly underwriting the costs of their schooling. We provide specialized education for talented individuals, sponsor higher education for young adults, and we support foreign language education.
Our goal in sports is to promote a healthy lifestyle, and to improve children’s access to holidays, exercise, and organized sports.
To this end, the Foundation organizes sports events, and is committed to improving the infrastructure of gyms and community facilities by donating sports equipment and facilitating regular exercise and training sessions.
3. Social Assistance
We wish to contribute to the building and development of new homes for the disadvantaged and to improve the foster care system in Hungary, hopefully improving the living conditions of underprivileged children.
To create equal opportunities and to promote integration into society, we vow to contribute to disadvantaged children’s social care, to provide financial and moral support, to represent their interests when necessary, and to help them overcome the difficulties that stem from a underprivileged family background.
We believe that having a proper role model in their daily lives is an essential contribution to the development and happiness of children. We believe that this is why it is extremely important to support those working in state care, education, the foster system, and voluntary social work. Our goal is to improve the public’s perception about these professions and to make them more attractive to job seekers.
Our goal is to broaden the perspective of children living in difficult conditions, and to increase their range of experiences. Our plans include organizing various cultural programs. It is important that underprivileged children also learn Hungarian history and we try to encourage them to participate in programs that they otherwise would not be able to afford.
This is why we organize outings and various other programs where children can learn to love history, culture, and entertainment, whether it’s through a theater performance, an amusement park, or a cultural exhibition.
”It’s motive alone which gives character to the actions of men”
Our foundation believes in long-term, systematic solutions. We do not wish to merely "remedy" the current issues but to fix the inherent problem in the system that allowed them to emerge in the first place. We are researching with the help of professionals how we can promote the development of vulnerable children and their educators. We are committed to finding answers on how we can effectively help vulnerable children the most and promote their development. We are looking for further partners to assist us in this noble endeavor.
We are looking for sponsors and caring specialists who wish to help the Foundation achieve its objectives with the knowledge they gained either through experience, or at scientific or research institution.
”When you give something expecting something in return, that’s business. When you give something and expect nothing, that’s love.”
We believe that we need more than care and love to improve the lives of disadvantaged children. The programs and services organized by our foundation require significant financial investment. One of the objectives of the Foundation is to provide the necessary financial resources. Success cannot be achieved by the Foundation alone- we believe that it is everyone’s responsibility.
The Foundation intends to mobilize Hungary's most successful people and businesses, as well as other individuals who want to help us achieve our goals. We call on all those who feel responsible for the less privileged of society, especially children, to join. We are sure we will find well-meaning people who want to contribute in different ways, and different degrees, to the available resources of the Foundation.
