Supporting Disadvantaged Children – Balajti Kindergarten, December 2025
2025. December 19.
In our work, we always strive to pay attention not only to children living in state care, but also to those who live with their families yet are likewise in disadvantaged circumstances. Over the past years, we have supported several schools, kindergartens, and learning centers that are dedicated to educating children facing difficult life situations. At the end of November, our Foundation received a new request from one such institution, asking for gifts for the children attending their kindergarten.
Balajt, located in Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County, is a small dead-end village with a population of around 500, where the majority of residents live under very challenging conditions. Despite this, the Balajti Kindergarten and Mini Nursery operating in the village makes every effort to support both the children in its care and their families. The institution employs only two enthusiastic kindergarten teachers—one of whom is also the head of the kindergarten—who asked for help so that they could surprise the 42 children attending the kindergarten with Christmas gifts. They considered this especially important, as they know that unfortunately most of the children are unable to receive gifts within their own families.
In response to their request, our Foundation prepared gifts for all 42 children, which they received during the kindergarten’s Christmas celebration. We are very happy to have met more dedicated professionals, and to have been able to contribute to making the children’s holiday a little happier.
