Playground Inauguration – Kömlőd Children’s Home – May 2023

In early May, we had the pleasure of returning to the Csodavilág Special Children’s Home in Kömlőd, located in Komárom-Esztergom County. Last summer, we spent an enjoyable afternoon with the children and staff, crowning the day with a communal cookout to celebrate the donation of a 10-person outdoor grill from our Foundation. During that visit, we learned that the playground equipment in their yard had deteriorated over the years and was in need of replacement for safety reasons. Given the nature of the home, which supports children with intellectual disabilities and special needs, as well as young people in aftercare, outdoor physical activity is especially vital to their well-being.

Recognizing this, our Foundation committed to donating 2 million forints to help provide new, modern playground equipment for the children’s home. We were thrilled to learn that another foundation also saw the value of this project, and with their support, a complete playground was installed. On a beautiful May afternoon, we gathered to inaugurate the new playground. The children prepared a delightful performance that brought an added sense of celebration to the event. Following their lively presentation, they eagerly explored their new playground, which will undoubtedly be a source of great entertainment in their daily lives. We were also pleased to see that the Teqball table, previously donated to the home, was in regular use, with the young residents proudly showing off their skills.

Visiting Kömlőd is always a heartwarming experience for us. It is both moving and inspiring to witness the children’s genuine enthusiasm and the tireless dedication of the staff. Once again, we were met with warm hospitality and left with wonderful memories. We look forward to arranging another visit in the near future.
