Gattyán Foundation Successes at the National Teqball Championship

This weekend, the first round of the three-stage National Teqball Championship—organized by the Hungarian Teqball Federation—was held in Nyíregyháza.

By now, it has become almost customary that children supported by our Foundation take part in these competitions. Most of them were first introduced to the sport years ago at our own events, and they have been training with great enthusiasm ever since.

Since the young athletes have not yet turned 18, they competed in the youth division and the adult amateur division of Hungary’s most prestigious Teqball event. The adult category was their very first attempt—but certainly not an undeserved one.

In the youth doubles category, Robi and Kevin finished in third place.

In the more challenging adult amateur singles category, Robi achieved second place, while Kevin placed third nationwide, an outstanding accomplishment.

Robi and Kevin also reached the final in the adult amateur doubles category, earning a silver medal in their very first major doubles competition.

Over the past two years, competitive Teqball has been such a strong source of motivation for these young athletes that their academic performance has improved noticeably—participation in the tournaments is now considered a reward for their efforts.

We hope to introduce Teqball to even more young people in the future and help them experience the joy of achievement through sport!
