Community Development Grant 2024 – Nail Care Workshop
2024. November 29.
The Mandulafa Children’s Home in Pécs recently proposed a grant initiative that was inspired by the specific needs and interests of the teenage girls living there. Their aim was to implement a multi-session nail care workshop, designed not only to spark creativity but also to promote self-expression and personal hygiene. The staff recognized that nail art, including techniques like nail extensions and gel manicures, could be both a fun and meaningful activity for the girls. Beyond being a creative outlet, the sessions were intended to encourage the development of individual style and highlight the importance of maintaining proper nail care as part of daily hygiene.
Through a 12-session program led by an expert, the girls have been steadily expanding their knowledge and practicing with professional tools. Each session provides a space for them to explore their creativity, ask questions, and gain hands-on experience in a supportive environment.
Our Foundation had the pleasure of joining one of these workshops to see it in action. The enthusiasm of the girls was infectious as they shared their experiences with us. Several even expressed an interest in pursuing nail care as a potential career path, inspired by the skills and confidence they’ve gained through the program.
