Experience Grant 2025 – Summer Holiday of the Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok County Child Protection Center
2025. August 22.
This year, several institutions once again sought to provide children with a truly extraordinary experience: a seaside holiday. The institution of Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok County succeeded in doing so, giving 20 children in their care the opportunity of a lifetime.
The goal of their seaside experience camp was to offer multiply disadvantaged young people something that is often an unattainable dream: the experience of the sea, the adventure of travel, and exposure to another culture. These experiences are particularly important, as they broaden the children’s worldview, support their self-discovery, and strengthen their confidence.
The camp took place in Croatia’s Kvarner Bay, a child-friendly location ideal for experience-based, educational programs. In addition to the region’s natural beauty, the children were able to explore its rich historical heritage. Beyond leisure and fun, they also had opportunities for cultural enrichment through city tours and museum visits. One day, for example, they explored the sights of Rijeka and visited Trsat Castle.
According to the caregivers’ reports, the camp gave the children far more than the unforgettable experience of seeing and enjoying the sea. It showed them that there are places and moments created for them, where they are valued and included. As they shared, this experience left a lasting mark not only on their memory but also on their vision for the future.
