Discussing youth housing in aftercare – May 2024

In February, we were approached by a children’s home in Budapest to assist in organizing a professional discussion by providing a venue. The initiative, led by the Budapest Municipality, aimed to bring together directors and staff from children’s homes, as well as the youth themselves, to develop a comprehensive housing support program. The consultation was also supported by the organization overseeing the children’s homes, and their representative actively participated in the discussions.

A total of three sessions were held in February and May, for which we were pleased to offer one of the meeting rooms at the Docler Holding headquarters. We attended each session, and it was truly inspiring to hear the perspectives of the young people involved. The youth in aftercare shared insightful and candid experiences, offering realistic ideas for the future. Their input gave us hope that meaningful support for their housing needs will soon be a reality.
