Visiting Children’s Homes – Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok County Child Protection Center – June 2022

We visited the headquarters of the institution, located on the aptly named Gyermekváros Street, where we had the opportunity to meet children and their caregivers from various residential care homes. Early in our visit, we found ourselves reminiscing, as many of the children had participated in the summer camp organized by the Foundation at Normafa in 2020, and we shared fond memories together. Later, the children surprised us with

heartfelt poems they had prepared, which was a truly touching moment. We also had an in-depth discussion with the institution’s director about the current situation, local conditions, and future plans. The director emphasized that they place great importance on regular physical activity and promoting a healthy lifestyle for the children. Daily sports activities are considered essential not only for channeling the children’s energy and improving their motor coordination but also for fostering a sense of community and belonging through physical exercise.

This commitment was clearly demonstrated in the requested donations, as we delivered 13 bicycles, much to the delight of the children. These bicycles will undoubtedly be put to good use during the summer holidays in the residential care homes in Szolnok and the surrounding areas, as well as in after-care homes. In addition, we also donated 13 tablets, which will primarily benefit those residing in special needs and specialized children’s homes.
